Marco Silva embarrasses himself once again with Newcastle United comments

Here we go again with Marco Silva.

The Fulham boss not taking it too well as Newcastle United made it three wins this season against Fulham, with six goals scored by NUFC across the trio of games and not a single goal from the West London side.

Wins home and away for Newcastle United in the Premier League, plus an FA Cup knockout in January.

Back in December, Marco Silva embarrassed himself and was left with no alternative but to admit a charge of improper conduct for comments he made after the 3-0 hammering at St James’ Park.

On that occasion the Fulham boss blamed the referee for the defeat and was fined £80,000 after admitting he was in the wrong.

He was charged after saying referee Sam Barrott “didn’t have the experience to handle the pressure” after Jimenez was red carded after launching that ridiculous challenge on Sean Longstaff, the most obvious sending off you will ever see.

This time after losing yet again (1-0) to Eddie Howe’s side, Marco Silva is crying on claiming a conspiracy and that Newcastle United players were going down injured when they really weren’t…

“It was tactical.

“The first one [when Dubravka had treatment] is clear.

“They [Newcastle United staff] gave the feedback for the goalkeeper to go down.

“It is something that is allowed.

“If the goalkeeper is down, the referee has to stop the game.

“No way for the game to keep going.

“But it was a tactical decision from them.

“Newcastle tried to break our momentum with the goalkeeper twice.

“Players on the grass always trying to break that momentum.

“We had the chances and we had a very good first half, just lack of better definition and attack.

“During the first half the way we pressed them, we pushed them and they were really struggling.

“Analysing our ambition, what we are capable to do…

“I really believe we can climb up the table.

“We have shown what we can do.

“Newcastle built a squad to be in Champions League.

“They competed in Champions League.

“But in first half I didn’t see any difference [between the two sides].”

Well, I think the fact that Fulham had all of their first team squad available today whilst Newcastle United had a full first team squad eleven of players missing, is something that Marco Silva forgets to mention.

Also, when he is claiming Newcastle United players supposedly pretending to be injured, reality is that Joe Willock was added to Newcastle’s injury list when forced off in the first half AND Dubravka looked clearly in pain when receiving lengthy treatment.

Maybe Marco Silva needs to look closer to home for why Fulham failed to win and indeed, Martin Dubravka not needing to make one difficult save all afternoon.
